Go Deeper · Prompt book · Calling cues for bigger work
Standby.Then go.
Every cue here is a prompt you can copy straight into Claude. They are sorted by how you feel right now, not by theory. Pick the light that matches, run one cue, and stop there if one is all you have today.
House rule When overwhelm hits, run one cue. Not three. Swap the [brackets] for your details and press go.
All cues
It's too tangled
I'm out of my depth
It's "good enough"
Aim higher
Borrow other fields
Every cue pushes one of three ways. Speed, the fourth kind of ambition, is doing the same work faster, which you get for free.
Up Altitude Aim at the outcome behind the task. Best for work that will end up in a meeting.
Down Depth Use the raw material and real instruments the best person in the field would use.
Across Range Borrow methods from fields the task does not obviously need.
Underneath Belief People achieve more with specific hard goals, proof it has been done, and permission to fail.

This prompt book is adapted from “How to be more ambitious: A tutorial for humans with models” by Felix Rieseberg, published 13 October 2026. The four types of ambition (Speed, Altitude, Depth, Range), the “deeper, not bigger” prompt, and the self-efficacy examples come from that post. The post in turn draws on The Art of Innovation by Tom Kelley and Jonathan Littman (nouns to verbs), The Inner Game of Tennis by W. Timothy Gallwey, and Locke and Latham’s goal-setting research. The feeling-based groupings, the AV and creative adaptations, and the extra cues are Cathy’s, with AVHD.
Limits to keep in mind: depth and altitude only go as far as the data and access you give Claude, and Claude should not grade its own work on anything that matters. Use a real test, a measurement, or a person.
